A college-led campaign to raise money for local foodbanks around the country has been given a huge boost by Great British Bake-Off star, Prue Leith.

Prince’s Trust Team Leader Jane Myles (from London South East Colleges’ Bromley Campus) has been using the lockdown period to design, create and manufacture, from her own home, facemasks to protect the Country’s essential workers during the coronavirus outbreak.

As the country fell into the grip of a global pandemic in March, an impending lockdown saw a sudden high demand for food and groceries, and the outbreak of the coronavirus led many to batten down the hatches leaving the nation’s shops and supermarkets working to full capacity. They have been required to stock higher than ever quantities of goods counting heavily on their staff and suppliers to help them meet demand.
